this totally rocks, i HAD to get this pic of me & my #1 homeboy scrapped -- clearly my new fave :D the "3d" image and glasses i made in photoshop (i assume it works w/ real 3d glasses, those ones are a LIL small to tell!!)

i think i could have done SO much more w/ this page!! i just got tired of working on it.... it's actually version 2.0 - funny story:

the first version looked exactly like this except the music paper was thinner and ran horizontally (where the stars are). i thought it would be cool to paint my hand w/ white and slap it in the middle behind the "Scrapstars" then add a few stars from various masks... uh not so much :P

the first coat of white paint dried on my hand before i got it on the paper because it put it on w/ a paintbrush.... not the smartest idea i had today. so then i finally just squirted a bunch of paint all over the paint paper on my desk, smeared my hand around in it till it was nice and gooey, and smacked it on the paper.....

it looked like Neanderthal hand.

seriously, i tried to fix it but it just got worse and worse. so i tore it all off the page and started again. THIS TIME NO PAINT.

i ran out of embellies that would be good for this situation, and gave up about 2:00AM with this being the final result. it will hang on my wall above my desk as a little "inspiration poster" of sorts.

meanwhile you get to wonder what it means.

BUT it did give me an excuse to use the Sassafras Lass i've been hanging onto forever.... waiting for the perfect project, of course! think this was it!!

paint & wanted posters

i finally PAINTED on one of my scrapbook pages...
i'm so excited/nervous!!!! it was all really fun though!

the first page is of my nephew; my BIL is a hatmaker, and he found the hat and altered it so it would fit on his cute little head!!! i thought the wanted paper was a good choice, and it worked out so well!! the caption reads: "My DAD makes awesome hats... and I wear 'em good!!"

the second page is for the ScrapMojo challenge... to use the quote from Dr. Seuss and use a book cover for inspiration. mine started with "The Cat in the Hat" -- but you can see where i took it and ran away with it! the girl is Kiana - my stepson's half-sister. thought it would be a nice gift for Shannon (their momma), since i have been making some for my SIL too. the paint was funnn.... and messy. i used bubble wrap to stamp on the paint, then i cut a strip of it off and adhered to the polka dot ribbon... which you can't tell because i had to take pics w/ my cam for these - my scanner just wasn't cutting it tonight :P

before i write the rest of the post i want to thank everyone (all 4 of you!! lol!) who actually reads my blog!! i was surprised to see that i had four comments on the last post -- that's pretty good! i think that's the most i've ever gotten on one! it was pretty interesting to see that me and my two bestest buds got the same score on the little quiz... wonder what that means.... lol.

anyways...

this is my fiance's sister's daughter & husband (her step-dad). the title of the email she sent w/ the picture was "1,000 Words" because there are LITERALLY so many things about this picture the bring something to mind for her - the love she feels for both of them, how much her daughter looks like her at that age, the joy she felt being able to send them both off to the local Valentine's Father-Daughter dance... such a priceless and inspiring memory!!

i'm just SLIGHTLY unimpressed at how the title turned out overall... i couldn't find anything big enough to fit behind the words, and i didn't just wanna chop up a piece of cardstock to try to pull it away from the background... guess my creative gears were turning a little slowly tonight!!
