YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!! our site is finally LIVE AND OPEN FOR ACTION! woo hoo ☺!!!!!!

www.scrapstars.net

or

scrapstars.net

our first challenge is "Soundtrack of my Life" -- do a LO of your favorite bands / songs that you consider to fall under that category... the twist is that you have to use at least one album cover somewhere on your page!! ☺

sorry about the blurry pic - in part why we were delayed from our original release date of Tuesday: i have been traveling back and forth between ohio and texas and have somehow lost the USB cord for my camera somewhere in between :( so i had to settle for a cell phone pic instead ! my apologies - i promise i will put better pics of this up when i get a new cord - it looks more fabulous in better quality ;)

thank you a bunch for checking it out, and thanks to everyone who has supported us in getting our site off the ground!! we are super-excited to be able to share finally - and we can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for our challenge!!! good luck, ladies, rock it out!!! we love ya ♥

Congratulations, P@ris!

So she gets out, what, tomorrow at noon? I don't know - I gave up following it after she started talking about "finding Jesus". I am super-proud of her, though - she managed to serve her time without so much as a billion dollar lawsuit - just some lame immature antics and Valtrex Withdrawals...

In honor of Paris' release from the Linwood Women's Prison out in Cali, this is my pick for Music Video Monday - or Tuesday - I was lazy yesterday and I also wanted to try to get it closer to the time of her actual "release" (lol, it's like they're freeing a captive animal...)

And because Shannon said she never saw this one. Cracks me up every time :) Enjoy.

Pink - "Stupid Girls"

Congrats Paris - enjoy that afterparty (since you're so turning over a new leaf now, an afterparty is the most appropriate thing to do, RIGHT?) Cr@zy.

Still Going Cr@zy Over Here...

A week (almost) later, I am still going NUTS over the new Linkin Park CD, "Minutes to Midnight". I listened to it twice straight through the minute I got it, and I think I love just about every song on it. Watched the online AOL Concert as well, and it totally rocked!! Tickets for a show here in Ohio went on sale Saturday, and my BFF Shannon is going to try like hell to at least get us all lawn seats!! They are a band that's DEFINITELY worth seeing live...

In honor of them this week, my favorite Linkin Park song ever, for Music Video Monday, in all its Moshiness....

"Faint"

Enjoy, Cr@zies.

Music Video Monday Time Delay

OOOOPS! Almost forgot Music Video Monday!! Got a real nice one for y'all this week:

SPICE GIRLS
"Wannabe"

Yeah, I know... I know... I used to love this song when it came out, though! I was a Freshman in High School - Give me a Break!! Seriously though it is pretty funny to watch this video now, 10 years later... And hear this song. Sorry 'bout the Karaoke, but it was all YouTube had! (Oh well, sing along, I know you're gonna anyway, LOLz!!!)

Cr@zy Spice Girls... boy, that lasted real long huh?

My FineTune 45 on Friday

It's a beautiful Friday here in Ohio!! I have been playing with Pandora and FineTune all day, it seems like it's been forever since I listened to some good music.

Thought I would share my "FineTune 45" @.K.@. "The Soundtrack of My Life". OK, maybe not so much but close!! If you wanna listen, you can check out the FineTune player a little ways down in my blog sidebar... it plays at random though, so don't expect anything big. Keep in mind too, that these songs hold a lot of memories for me, so they might be pretty random...

Anyway, here it is, without further ado, my Favorite 45 Songs of All-Time:

Awfully random, ain't it? Yep, that's how I like my music - fresh, juicy and random... Ummm, anyway.

Go check out FineTune. That is, if you want to make a playlist of the best 45 songs ever. Of course, you get to make more than one playlist... so... have at it. And if you're in the mood for something new, check out Pandora. They have customized radio stations that adapt themselves to your music likes and dislikes through little thumbs up/down buttons and eventually you will start hearing more music you like, some even from people you've never heard of!!

How cr@zy is that for a change?? (Not really, but I had to think of something to say to wrap this up! BYE!!)

flyle@f.

OK, it's Music Video Monday again!! LOLz.

My friend Jilly-Bean told me last week about this awesome band called Flyleaf. They are a North Texas Rock Ensemble with a Chick Lead Singer. Which always registers as cool in my book.

Their sound is unique, their lyrics are fascinating. Worth checking out while we're waiting for Linkin Park (1 week and counting - 10,621 Minutes to Midnight!!) Here's the vid for their song, "Fully Alive":

Also, visit their website: FLYLEAF.

I'm always cr@zy about new music... Thanks Jilly :)

Anime Music Videos

I have been in love with Anime Music Videos for about 3 or 4 years now. Being a big fan of Anime and music anyway, this just comes naturally. I first found them on Limewire late in 2003, although I'm sure they've been around longer than that. An Anime Music Video is basically a mashup of a song and clips from a particular Anime series or several series that go with the music. It's pretty cool, even if you're not a huge Anime fan, it's nice to see something different from the normal music video for a change.

Here are my all-time faves, to date:

THE OFFSPRING - "THE KIDS AREN'T ALRIGHT" / DRAGONBALL Z
It's a little tedious while they tell a little of the DragonBall backstory, but it's awesome when it gets to the song...

THE BEATLES - "YESTERDAY" / COWBOY BEBOP
Oh how I love Cowboy Bebop... and the Beatles... this is beautiful, makes me want to cry...

ATC - "SO MAGICAL" / SAILOR MOON
Sailor Moon is probably my fave Anime of all time... First one I ever watched outside of "My Neighbor Totoro"... I have great memories of watching that show and this song....

BILLY JOEL - "ALWAYS A WOMAN" / ANIME GIRLS
A tribute to all the girls of Anime... this is such a pretty song, I love watching all the clips they put with it....

I hope you like these Anime Music Videos... You can find a lot more of them on sites like YouTube, or do a Google search for them too....

Cr@zy Anime... I just love it!! ^_^

LINKIN PARK!!!!!!!!!!

LINKIN PARK - WHAT I'VE DONE

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH {screaming like a cr@zy chick fan in the crowd at a Backstreet Boys concert over here!!} AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

Yeah. I just want to pee my pants right now. Seriously. Linkin Park has a new song, new album coming out in a few weeks... I am literally about to cry. These guys are like, my favorite band ever!! I have been waiting for what - 3 YEARS - for them to come out with something "new". They have been releasing things here and there behind the scenes; but not enough to satisfy a fan's addiction. If it weren't for my friend Jill (and her boyfriend John) I would have never known about this either... I don't know how... I get their newsletter...... Maybe it got filtered as spam?!?!?!

So not only is their new song AWESOME, but the music video is AWESOME too. Definitely worth a watch. Their new CD, Minutes to Midnight, is set to be released May 15th at midnight, right after a live concert on AOL. You can get more information about what they're up to, and watch some episodes of LPTV on their website - Linkin Park : Minutes to Midnight.

I can't wait to hear this one - the first song, though reminiscent of their others (because what band doesn't sound like itself?) is already unique enough for me to definitely want to buy this CD. YES I SAID BUY - not borrow, or download for free - but really BUY IT - because I am always in favor of putting out the cash when I see a worthwhile investment. Which, sadly, most of the time is not the case anymore - hence I rarely ever buy an entire CD.

I'll be over here going Cr@zy until May 15th....

Cr@zy Old People!!!

I just love old people, and this only firmed my resolve.

The Zimmers, a collective of 90-somethings in Britain, have formed a sort of, "Psychedelic Rock Band". They're tired of sitting around nursing homes and being old, and they all prove they can still do it just as good as any 20-something band!

Here they are, performing a cover of "My Generation" at Abbey Road Studios:

And their MySpace: THE ZIMMERS

How cool is that?! I wanna work in THAT nursing home!

Cr@zy old people... gotta love em!

Ali Edwards & Autism - What Kind of World Do You Want?

CLICK HERE - WHAT KIND OF WORLD DO YOU WANT?

Please check out this blog. My favorite scrapbooker, Ali Edwards, is trying to raise money for Autism awareness. She has posted re: a video by the band Five for Fighting, which features shots of Autistic children and their families with their song, "World". The band has promised to donate $0.49 to Autism Speaks every time the video is viewed. The money will help fund research for a cure. Please help them reach their 10,000 hit goal.

Pass this on to anyone you know who would care enough to take a few minutes of their time to help support a good cause. It is well worth your time - and not a bad song either!

Thanks so much - Ali is a wonderful person and I hope that her influence in the scrapbooking world will reach out beyond, and hopefully generate interest in a very worthwhile (and very serious!) cause!!

Go cr@zy on that video, people!

Check it Out, Gn@rls!

Ever wondered what it takes to make a mashup? This is it. Only the best of the oldschool turntable junkies can do it this way. Props to DJ Sussex out of London, England. eNjoy...

RaWK Out to Your Fave Tunes

Another coolio site for all the music cr@zies out there!

FineTune

This is pretty slick. You get to make playlists of whatever songs you want (well, those they have in their database, which is pretty extensive). Lots of playlists. Then you can listen to them wherever you want: on their site, on a blog, or myDisgrace [Space]. This is pretty nice if you want to listen to music while you're doing other things, and there's no hunt-and-peck through your collection to get together what you want. It's free, so why not? The only downfall is that you can only add 3 songs per artist to each playlist... so you can't do that all Bananarama playlist you were hoping for - but you could just go all out and make an "Annoying 80's Music" playlist instead. If you get stumped for what to fill in the rest of your playlist with (like above said playlist), Finetune will find and fill in songs that are similar to those you already picked. And, if you are just in the mood to listen to random whatever stuff, they also have some pretty cool preprogrammed stations as well.

You can see an example of the widget they provide for blogs at the bottom of my blog (and you can listen to my kick@$$ playlist too, while you're down there LOL!). It is very simple to install (almost no effort!) and is available right on their site. FAN-TASTIC!

Carry on!
